Background

John has extensive and varied C-Suite experience, having held the CFO position at seven companies ranging from startup to billion-dollar plus multinationals.  He been involved in numerous buy- and sell-side transactions.  After graduating from the Tepper School of Business with an M.S. in Industrial Administration, he started his career at Ford Motor Company as a financial analyst.  He progressed into senior roles in the U.S., Argentina, and Brazil, and the top financial positions at Jaguar Cars North America and Lincoln Mercury.  After leaving Ford, he has been CFO at closely held and private equity backed companies and successfully completed the sale of three companies.  John is a CFA® charterholder and Certified Value Builder™.

Professional Highlights
  • At Ford, led financial evaluation and government-incentive negotiations for $125-million audio plant in Portugal.  Oversaw alternative financings – equipment sale-leaseback, receivable sales, and others – raising $1 billion during downturn.  Played key role in financial turnaround of operations in  Argentina & Brazil.
  • Has played key roles as CFO in exits of 3 companies:  sold packaging manufacturing division to private equity firm, a PE-sponsored railroad tie treatment company to a Canadian strategic buyer (including HSR Act anti-trust clearance), and a SaaS/Professional Services firm to a PE platform company.
  • Strong FP&A skills – budgets, forecasts, scenario analysis, product and program investment evaluations, other types of special projects requiring financial analysis and business acumen.
  • As CFO has overseen all functions including accounting & financial reporting, treasury, HR, IT, and risk management. 
  • As interim CFO and consultant has led refinancing of asset-based loans, cash forecasting, covenant compliance, venture capital investment due diligence, and strategic plan formulation.
